Dear Parents,

 

We are happy to welcome your child to the Sunday school at Epworth Methodist Tamil Church! The purpose of our Sunday school program is to discipline children in their Christian faith by teaching and modeling traits of Bible reading, fellowship, and prayer. There are many fun lessons and activities planned which our teachers are eager to share with your children to interest and inspire them so that they seek and love God above all else.

 

Please read the information below carefully and mark your calendars with the important dates listed in the EVENTS page.

 

• SUNDAY SCHOOL HOUR: The Sunday school meets every Sunday at 10:30 AM after the church service. Any child between the age of 3 and 14 is welcome to attend the Sunday school. Sunday school workbooks are provided to each child. The book guides your child through the week’s scripture-based lesson. We follow the India Sunday School Union (ISSU) curriculum. The children need to carry a Bible, pen/pencil, eraser, color pencils and water bottle.

• SUNDAY SCHOOL SUNDAY: The Sunday school Sunday is set aside to celebrate children as active participants in the life of the church where children conduct the church service and serve as worship leaders.

• CHRISTMAS TREE PROGRAM: The Children’s Christmas program called as the ‘Christmas Tree Program’ is typically held during the first week of December.

 

Other programs conducted for our Sunday School Kids through the year include:

• SUNDAY SCHOOL RETREAT : A two day retreat is conducted for the Sunday school children on a yearly basis. It allows the children to escape their normal routines and surroundings and experience a time of spiritual, social and physical benefit. The retreat is driven by resource teams from organizations like Scripture Union (SU).

• BIBLE TREK (Teaching, Reaching and Engaging Kids with God’s word) –  Bible TREK is an exciting fun-filled, visual and activity based Biblical journey through important events and lessons from the word of God. It is singularly aimed at educating your child with God’s word through games, object lessons, crafts, cartoons and songs.  It is held on a monthly basis in our church premises. • VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL (VBS) – A VBS is a weeklong outreach program that educates children about God through bible stories, skits, action songs and games. It gives your child a good opportunity to socialize and network with like-minded friends and grow up in spiritual fellowship. It is usually held during Diwali vacations.
